I have a bunch of new TV channels to watch - which is nice, thanks to Virgin Media. It's a shame we had to pay a £25 setup fee, even though we were already connected. Flicking through the kids channels I happened upon this freakshow - which is so disturbing that it's not funny. Kids might love it but what about the traumatic effect on the adults?! They're called the doodlebops by the way - even the name is horrible *shudder*

who remembers this ad? I remember it well but only just saw it again after 20 odd years. I could still remember the "words" and was reminded of them every time I bought a kinder egg - it is very odd though, probably disturbed quite a few young children back in the day...

who in their right mind would wear shoes like this? I don't know about your neck of the woods but round here, everyone is wearing them. There are currently 3313 for sale in the footwear section of ebay. I honestly don't think you could design an uglier piece of footwear if you tried... In years to come people will look back at old photos or see them collecting dust in a charity shop and say "oh, do you remember when we used to wear those things, weren't they hideous" (or it'll be on "I love the noughties" on Channel 4 in 2020). They're called crocs by the way (which is probably an elaborate joke by an australian - I know my Home and Away vernacular à la Alf Stewart)

a couple of months ago I went crazy with the peroxide and bleached my hair (and scalp) nearly into oblivion. I kept it under a hat for the first ten days (that's not a metaphor) because until it's grown out, it looks a lot like this. For a while it looked great, and I let it grow much longer then usual because very short, very bleached hair looks a bit too gay for my liking, so eventually I started to look like this. Today I decided it was time to cut it and so all the bleached bits are now gone from the back and sides, but on the top where I like to keep it longer, the tips are still very pale blond. The overall effect is something like this - slightly silly in 2007 I think you'll agree; I could pretend it's ironic I suppose. I have a Nik Kershaw scarf somewhere I could wear.... You can't really win. It only looks right during a window when it's sufficiently grown out but not too overgrown. I'm wondering if I should shave it all off, bleach it all again, or just put up with it. I suspect it'll be the latter. Wot a palaver eh....
